How long is it normal to bleed after a full mouth extraction?  I'm wondering when to panic?

Item #1 on my Dentist's Post-Op Instruction Sheet addresses bleeding and you can read it here:

Remember that you probably have a lot of salivation going on right now too which may be making it seem like you are bleeding more than you actually are.  Keeping your head elevated a bit can help too.  Ice is good for swelling and the cold will constrict the blood vessels and help stop the bleeding.

Call the Dentist if you're concerned.

I bled alot after Eday for a good few hours and then it slowed up a bit for the majority of the day.  Keep in mind that the blood mixed with saliva looks like more than it is.

You can also use tea bags soaked in warm water and drained to bite on with even pressure to slow the bleeding.

Please dont panic, this scares us all.

Thanks guys

Also here is a link about using Tea Bags to assist clotting.  I didn't do this, but others have used this method.

When laying down prop your head up

Sleep with your head up, a drool towel and you are going to be okay Christina.

I know this is so scary gal, we are all right here if you need us.

I slept in my recliner for the first 5 nights with my ice bags. I had significant bruising but little swelling. I think it helped me. Bleeding stopped after a few hours.

I bled for 12 hours and awoke twice in a puddle of blood....I was thinking I better go to e.r. then it stopped...pretty weak afterwards

I bleed for a solid day....and oozed for 2 more after that.
