Has anyone had their back top teeth extracted and a partial inserted on the back bottom at the same time. The rest of my top teeth will be extracted in the spring then a full top denture will be inserted the day the front teeth are extracted. I don't know do you call this immediate dentures? If any one has gone through these steps I would love to hear from you.. Also I am not sure how a partial bottom works when it is both sides of the bottom that I need partials done on. I have this vision of t…

I'm 30 yrs old (since yesterday) and look worse then a grandmother. I always had bad teeth, even thoug i took good care of them ( brushing twice daily, flossing and mouth wash). Always went to the Dentist and got work done, that had to be done. About 6 yrs ago i had oral surgery and got the roots removed from 2 mollers for my crowns. Back then the OS said he had to cut out severel zyst's. After like 2 Month having my crown's, the fell out just like that. Then my two teeth i had surgery on, start…

Today is week 7 since my E-day. All is still going well. Oh how I would love to bite into a hamburger..in due time ..in due time.
I have lost about 9 lbs. It seems going out to dinner these days consists of 3 kinds of restuarants only...Mexican Food (tamales and rice), Seafood (grilled or broiled fish) and Italian, I love all of those foods but I miss hamburgers.
I had a soft reline at 4 weeks and it is still holding well and I hope I still have this nice fit at Thanksgiving as I am not due back…

Just got back from dentist #2. Dentist #2 is the "Denture Artist". He'll be the one actually making my new choppers. Dentist #1 is the one who #2 works hand and hand with. Dentist #1 will be doing the extractions unless they both decide that I need to see Dentist #3 which is an OS....
So, when I talked with #1 he thought "maybe" we could save 7-8 teeth on the bottom, and take the top out. Upon talking with #2 today, he wasn't so sure that was the best move by looking at the x-rays. #1 said I mi…

I'll be heading to the OS at 2pm this afternoon.... Have a ton of questions to ask him. Most of the questions came from reading this site.
I'm a little nervous, but nothing more than talking today and setting up an E day.
As much as I was leaning toward getting this done asap, I'm thinking about waiting until after the first of the year so my Holidays aren't screwed up. The thing is I have almost all my teeth on top except for one on each side on top, and one missing from the bottom in the back.…

Tomorrow will be week 6 since my E-day.
So far so good, knock on wood. There are only 2 bad things, if you want to call them bad, that seem to bother me. 1) not being able to eat all the great food I did in the past and 2) when my bottom dentures start to get loose they rub on a sore spot. Well #2 is always an easy fix, add more "glue" and all is good to go, #1 will come in time
I have lost a little over 8 lbs since my E-day (9/16/09). On a positive note I did eat a potato chip the other day...o…

I have an appointment on Thursday to see the dentist who will be doing the extractions. Today I'm actually excited.
Last night while sucking on a lifesaver, rolling it around in my mouth, I realize there are two things rolling around in my mouth........are you freaked yet? So was I.
Just so happens that a molar which I have been having no problems with at all decided to just rot away? No sense sugar coating it. I had a root canal and a cap put on probably 15 years ago or better and apparently, s…

It's been 8 months now since I got my full upper. I still have work to do on the bottom but the upper was not done right so I plan on getting a new upper when I do the lower work.
These days I find my self getting more and more accustomed to it. My upper denture is begining to feel like my mouth now. I don't seem to be freaking out about something with it everyday as I was, but it has taken time.Things like too much saliva or not enough saliva. Using adhesive or not using it. I try to remain ve…

Hello everybody! I am new to this forum. I am 39 yrs old. Last Wednesday I extracted 15 teeth and ended up with upper full denture and lower partials on both sides. I did the work in Mexico at the Center for Biological Dentistry. I have problems with my immediate dentures. The lower ones hurt the gum around my natural teeth, so I don't wear them at all. The upper one irritates my gum in one spot to the point of bleeding (it feels like a blister) and it's very tight, may be too high, puts pressur…

hi everyone,
well i have had bad teeth for 15yr maybe even 20 but the worst part was the last 15 yrs
then after four children my teeth deteriorated rapidly, so after a lot and i mean alot of tooth aches and abces's i have made the big decision to get the dentures
i have had all my top teeth out last friday 16/10/09 and they put the dentures straight in on top of my raw gums, which hurt like hell and seemed to gag me and wouldn't stay put, i am hoping this is not what i am to expect in the futur…

Its been a long journey, over a year since I first began the process, and its coming to an end. I have been on and off this site during this time. Last October I had my E-Day, an experience to remember. I had my work done at a University Dental School and their process was to do the extractions, wait 4 to 5 months for healing and initial bone loss, and then have permanent dentures made.
There were some delays along the way, I went back to oral surgery to have a torus taken down. Then developed…

This is my first "blog" anywhere. After reading for countless hours on the forums here, I thought maybe this would give me some comfort within to jot down my journey as I forge ahead with what inevitably is the loss of my teeth.
After many years of neglecting to see a dentist, or rather seeing them and not being able to afford what really needed to be done, I am fortunately in a situation where I can get things taken care of. I have a wonderful boyfriend, John, who said he would help me and I c…

I am at week 4 since E-day. Today I had my first soft reline...WOW...everything feels awesome.
I had no idea how snug the top was going to fit after having the soft reline. I am not even using "glue" at the the moment on the top...the bottoms..well most of you know how the bottoms are...they move around if not "glued" in place.
The dentist and I are going to talk about the mini implants for the bottom when I go back in mid Dec.
I think with the soft reline that I maybe able to start some actual…

It's been a little over a week now, One week and three days to be exact. I am finding that I am doing very well.
Sore Spots
The sore spots where the dentures rubbed or whatever causes them have finally gotten to a point where they don't hurt. They are still there, but that intense pain is not there. I still take them out when I sleep at night. That's only because I want those sore spots to heal completely before I actually sleep with them in. I don't like the fact of sleeping with…
