o.k. that looks weird!!!

well im 10 days into this journey & all in all im doing pretty well.my pain & swelling have diminished & my speech has improved 100%.i now have 2 problems it seems when i smile really wide all can see where my dentures stop & my real gums start uugghhh!!so i have to be sure to smile modestly kinda like when i had those rotton ole teeth in my mouth.im not very happy about that & am wondering whta they can do to fix that?my aff.denture office opens next wk so i had to go to another office for some adjustments & what a difference they make whoo hoo!!!!.o.k.so my next prob.is everytime i eat which (my menu has increased considerably )the food gets under my plate & i immediately have to take them out ..no matter how much adhesive i use it still seems way too big... another uugghh!! so any advice you all can share will be ever so helpful.thanx so much .

Also Does your denture go all the way up to where you can feel it right below your nose almost even with it" Mine goes up that high and ther is no way I could smile that high. There is no way you could see the top no matter how big the smile. I always get food under mine too. It's annoying. Hope someone else has some adviace about that.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Charlie on July 10, 2009 at 9:40pm: I understand how you feel... Kinda... I still smile "tight" too but mine is because I dont like to see the pink plastic above the teeth.. It freaks me out to see it and I am worried that it will others too... As far as the food under the plate.. what adhesive are you using? I use Polident Powder and I have no problem with things getting trapped unless they are starting to come loose... Give it a try... :); ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Paintsthepeople on July 11, 2009 at 7:04am: As your gums heal & shrink...your denture will be adjusted to fit. The first few months are the worse with food getting under as you're shrinking so fast which leaves gaps around the denture. Just hang in there...it gets better.

As soon as your AD office opens, go in for a check.
