Delete Discussion My name is Karin and I'm not the youngest one. I was amazed by so many young people having lost their teeth.
First of all, I can not find my post from last night. It was late, and I had just found this place. I'm so lucky to learn from all the people here.
Well, last Thursday was "E-Day", as you're calling it. I had all my teeth extracted and the dentist wanted to insert the denture right a way. I thought he was killing me, LOL I screamed, take it out, take it ! To have something that hard onto an open wound, was unbelievable cruel to me. He send me home with them and for me to try it in a few days. There will be no few days, it will be when I'm darn ready and there is no more pain. I can hardly speak, eat and constant pain. Way in the beginning I had 2 teeth extr. and 2 weeks later another one, incl. 1 bone draft and 1 implant. That wasn't so bad. Now, what's wrong when he extr. the rest of them, incl. 2 more implants? ? ? Could he have damaged a nerve? Of course he wants to see me this week with, you guessed it, "MONEY" I already paid him $ 6000 and the next time another $ 3500 and the rest later. I've the feeling he is greedy?
Now, comes the color. Right in the beginning I did not like the yellow color and voiced my opinion over and over again. He practically talked me into getting the yellow, claiming it would look more naturally. Believe me, they're yellow. My daughter said, they look like from a 90 year old lady. The dentist said, it could all be changed later. I didn't get the meaning off it. They're not in wax, they look like they're finished but I acted dumb and told him (wrote him) please, then change them now in more of a lighter color /white. Since this is a 2 hour drive to see him, I sent the denture back and also canceled my appointment (Christmas Eve, can you believe this) That day is a very special day for me and here I let myself talk into driving 4 hours? ? ? How can I be so gullible?
That's it my friends. Sorry for my bad English. I was not born here, my 2nd home! I try ! Please, anything you can advise me what to do. I'm sure, he has to start all over again. When he said, it can be changed later, it also means I've to dish out more money with a new denture, right? I drive that far because he is cheap. I've to search on that one.

well my number is up...7:30 am tomorrow I will be entering the torture chamber to have my uppers yanked. I too have been lurking in the background reading everything on this site for over a month. From the bottom of my heart, don't look at it as "torture chamber" to have them "yanked." It is NOT that bad at all, AND it is you doing for you what is needed and best and it started a whole new chapter of your life!
