Did anyone find themselves roaming the dental care aisle before eday

I know this sounds crazy, but I keep roaming the dental care aisle looking at all the different types of toothpaste, oral rinses and electric toothbrushes and thinking if I'd only used this product or that product this wouldn't be happening to me. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Is this nuts or what

I recall roaming the supermarket just prior to e-day, thinking of all the foods I won't be able to eat for a while. I didn't loose my mind -- as far as I can tell. ;)

I purposely avoided looking at toothpastes, flosses because I knew I'd start thinking "what if" and since dentures are my reality there was no point in making myself feel bad. Doesn't bother me now because instead of facing a wide variety of choices the denture section wherever I go is a pretty small section to choose from.
As for food, I didn't really think about what I couldn't eat until I went shopping after getting my lower to go with a new upper. That was a rude awakening, a huge grocery store and only a handful of things I could actually eat. The thrilling part was the more I healed the more I could add to the list. Thank goodness the shopping list is back to normal again.

I don't think you sound nuts at all - it's probably just part of the grieving process before coming to a state of acceptance. Going from having teeth to having a denture is a big step. All of us on this site have gone through the same process and we all deal with it in different ways. Don't worry, you'll be okay.
